frivolous and fun

Did you ever want to know how and why gel pens were invented?

If so this video today is for you. Enjoy!

Below the video I share a painting I made in 2021 that I never shared before now—yes, I used gel pens to create the piece.

No, I am not getting any kickbacks or funds from sharing this gel pen video. It's just fun facts!

And also, I use a ton of Uni-ball pens in Black and White ink in my work (a type of pen featured towards the end of the video).

Then below on the right a painting I made last year.

The green painting in this corner of a home we recently sold may look "simply green" from this view, but please enjoy the details below to see the vast amount of Uni-ball white ink used to create the surface design of the work. This painting was sold when our home sold and thus has a permanent place on that wall.

Green Roads Painting (detail), 36 x 48 inches, mixed media on wood, Suzanne Gibbs, ©2021, originally commissioned then sold with a home.

Green Roads Painting (edge detail), 36 x 48 inches, mixed media on wood, Suzanne Gibbs, ©2021, originally commissioned then sold with a home.

The home has orange countertops throughout the kitchen and bathroom, so I thought it would be fun to create the detail of just a touch of orange on the edges of this large format painting.

I am seriously considering making commission paintings in 2023 or 2024. I am not set up for this type of work yet, but feel free to contact me if you are interested. Exploring opportunities together might be fun!

Namasté (may the light in me shine respect and peace to you)
